Tortoises, I forgot to write about the tortoises!

On our highland tour on Santa Cruz we saw giant tortoises in the wild.
Our first tortoise sighting

We drove down a dusty, narrow road onto a farm. This central area of the island is lush and tropical and this farm raises cattle and grows fruit for sale on the island and for the tortoises to eat.

Also on the farm are tunnels formed by rivers of hot lava.

Not too easy to get into these tunnels
Galapagos Giant Tortoises are the largest living species of tortoise. They can grow up to 880 lbs with a lifespan of 100+ years in the wild.
