Tyrona Park, Colombia

Take your passport or a copy of it to enter the park. After paying you will be given a wrist band.

We went with a guide which was a good idea because the path is not well marked and because of the recent rains we had to go off the main path. We had to hike across 2 rivers and slog through mud. We went barefoot for most of the way. You can take a horse but it is also difficult for them. We saw many lost horseshoes and someone saw 2 horses fall. The horses make the trail even muddier.

We went all the way to the camping and restaurant beach but should have stopped at an earlier bay as they had better swimming conditions. It took us 2 1/2 hours each way with our guide pushing us all the way. It was an exhausting and muddy day.

It was a lonnnnng and muddy trip.

Dangerous critters in the area.
