Trip on the metro

Everyone should travel to a place where they can't speak the language. Chileans are very helpful and forgiving with people who don't speak Spanish. Good thing for us. All we had to do was hold a map, look around with a bewildered look, speak to each other in English, and flash, we had help. The metro was great once we got the hand of it. We visited Plaza de Armas, ate a meal of fish at the Mercaddo Central (I ate eel), and visited the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino. Tomorrow we are off on an "Excursion Valparaiso y Vina del Mar"

Beware the tax

How much does it cost to land in Chile? 132.00usd per person. Yikes! With the arrival tax and shuttle downtown it cost us $300 to get out of the airport. Expensive first day. Good thing that our 3 nights at the Holiday Inn are paid for with airmiles.

Crazy pod seat

Chillin' in the business class lounge at YVR

What a way to begin our trip to Chile and Peru.....open self serve bar, lunch, magazines, newspapers, cushy seats and a super view. We are looking forward to flying business class to South America. Thank you Aeroplan points!
