Isla Margarita is the largest island in the Venezuelan state of Nueva Esparta, situated off the northeastern coast, in the Caribbean Sea. I took a short flight to stay in an all-inclusive on the beach while I waited for my son, Jeremy, to fly into Venezuela. I stayed at Hesperia Playa El Agua. They have 3 restaurants, but only the buffet restaurant was open while I was there. The beach is located out of the resort across a small road and this is where I spent the majority of my time. Made lots of "friends" with the people who were selling wares on the beach. They were the only ones who spoke any amount of English. I missed having a companion and I don't think I like traveling alone.
